Sambadrome on Special Group nights can be priced from R$10 to R$500 (US$6.50 to US$312.50), VIP Cabins, or Covered Boxes, seating (including open bar, buffet - dinner, dessert and more) and scalped tickets can be much more expensive (starting at US$2,500.00).

For extroverted ones, there is also the possibility for tourists to buy a costume and parade ("Fantasias") along the dancers in one of the samba schools.

In the recent years there has been a resurgence of block parties in Rio de Janeiro. These parties include Street Bands called "Blocos" and you will find such parties in suburbs all over Rio. You should check out those too, there is more than just one carnival.

Liesa divulga calendário dos ensaios técnicos

Rio - Essa é para quem gostra de se divertir sem gastar nada. A Liesa divulgou nesta segunda-feira o calendário dos ensaios técnicos para o Carnaval. As apresentações começam no dia 5 de dezembro com a Beija-Flor e vão até o dia 15 de fevereiro, quando a campeã de 2008 fará o teste de luz e som da Avenida. No calendário impresso na Revista Ensaio Geral, a publicação oficial da Liga, estão previstas datas para as agremiações da Leisa.
